Lush Golden Handshake Hot Hand Mask

The cold, biting winds and chilly temperatures winter brings play havoc with my hands, leaving them dry and chapped so I'm always on the look-out for something to soften them up. I gave the Lush ( Golden Handshake hot hand mask a try.  Did it work? Why not grab a cuppa and read on...
This gorgeous looking hand mask comes on a stick - not unlike a tasty lollipop! - and is in the shape of a mini hand (what else?) coated in a sparkling layer of golden glitter making it very eye-catching. It contains argan and avocado oil, both know for their amazing moisturising properties. That, together with the blurb on the front of the packaging, made it sound very appealing - 'pampering warmth' was just what my frazzled mitts were crying out for. So, when I found myself with a quiet half hour I decided to indulge them.

To get the maximum benefit of the mask you definitely need to put aside a good fifteen minutes to let it work its magic.
  1. Fill a largish bowl with hot water (it needs to be big enough to fit both hands).
  2. Place the mask (still on its stick) in the bowl allowing it to stand upright.
  3. Stir until the mask melts & thickens the water.
  4. Inhale and enjoy the luxurious aroma.
  5. While it's melting it would be a good time to pop on a Lush face mask of your choice - you might as well make the most of your bit of 'me' time!
  6. When it's melted and gone all gooey pop your hands in and give them a good old soak for 15 minutes.
  7. As an alternative to soaking in the creamy water Lush folk say the mask can be massaged into your hands before rinsing it off.
The Lush website features a helpful video showing full instructions on how to use the mask and what it should look like when it's ready to plunge your hands into it.

I followed step 7 and massaged the mask into my hands, leaving it on for the fifteen minutes - after I'd slathered on a Lush BB Seaweed face mask of course (£6.75 for 75g).

Hell, yeah! As with all Lush products the hand mask smelled heavenly. The texture, which was rich and creamy, definitely soothed my dry hands. And, once I'd rinsed it off, it left a protective coating on my skin which lasted all day. I was a very happy bunny.

At a mere £2.95 the Golden Handshake hand mask is really good value and I would definitely recommend it. In fact the fragrant Lush voice of temptation is calling loudly in my hear and I feel a visit to the nearest branch is imminent this weekend. Happy days!

Have you tried the Lush Golden Handshake?
